What's Next? - Grow

Connect > Grow > Serve

After the initial connection, continued growth is very important in your journey with Christ. Because we are committed to help you, we offer a variety of growth opportunities. First, we ask everyone to be part of a Sunday School Ministry. This is the environment in which you are able to connect relationally and grow spiritually. We have classes for all ages and for various stages of life. Most classes are teaching an age-appropriate version of the same content at the same time through a curriculum called The Knowledge Project. These classes are on Sundays at 9:30 am, but many classes also meet on Wednesday nights and at other times as well. See our list of Sunday School Ministries below.

Secondly, if you are an adult, our hope is that you would choose to grow through our Module Classes and our Group Life. As an extension of The Knowledge Project, Module Classes are specialized four-week classes covering a variety of topics, all of which are designed to dig deeper in the Word. They usually occur twice in the spring and twice in the fall. Group Life is groups of people that provide care and help to one another on a wide range of topics. Module Classes and Group Life help you grow both spiritually and mentally into the person God intends you to be.

Whether you are single or married, younger or older, our Sunday School Ministries provide a tremendous opportunity to learn while also allowing you to meet and interact with others who are seeking spiritual enrichment. Below is a list of the opportunities we offer for you. If you need help finding the location of your class, you can visit either of our Welcome Centers located in the lobby of the church or ask any of our guest relations' personnel. We also have included a map at the end of this booklet for your convenience. If you would like more information or would just like to ask a few questions, you may contact the church office at (318) 487-8976 anytime during the week.  Click here to see a list of Sunday School Classes.

Ministry Teams
Each ministry team is a small group headed by a Ministry Team Leader. These groups unite, encourage, inspire, and focus on development. Each Ministry Team meets at least once per month to learn about a variety of topics important to discipleship. The idea is not only to educate and train, but also to teach ministry team members to educate and train others. Ministry Teams are designed to develop people—first as disciples, and then as disciplers. For more information on how to get involved, call our church office at (318) 487-8976.

Support Groups
Most all of us have hurts, habits, and hang-ups—and we all need personal growth. Support groups are a resource for—and they provide healing components to—a variety of life's problems and challenges. The goal of support groups is to facilitate personal growth and an emotionally healthy church. Learning new ways to handle challenges, cope with changes, and maintain healthy behaviors are all important aspects of the support-group

Module Semester and Session Schedule
Module Classes are offered in two semesters twice a year: in the spring and in the fall.  Each semester has two four-week sessions.  A few of the classes span the entire eight week session, while most last four weeks.  Some are offered both four-week sessions while others are offered during only one of the four-week sessions.  Classes offered are rotated according to demand and teacher availability.  Modules are open to POA members and guests.

What is a module class? Module Classes offer a variety of paths for greater enrichment for those who want to go deeper into the Word and discipleship.  The classes rotate each session, so there is always a fresh opportunity to go deeper in the Word and your life. Module classes may be held on Sunday afternoons, on Wednesday nights, or at various other times throughout the week. These classes meet for one and one-half hours once per week, and classes are scheduled in four-week increments. Module sessions are held twice in the spring and twice in the fall. Some of the topics include: Eat This Book (training on how to study the Bible), Ministry Training (training to become involved in corporate ministry), Becoming a Woman of Influence, Parenting, and many others. Discipleship is a lifetime process; we must never stop learning and studying the Word.
